It’s the same prompter you get in the browser, in a window that stays on top of your slides or your call. It keeps the screen awake while you read and saves recordings straight to disk. Sign in with your Wordtandem account; the free plan works in the desktop app too.

What you'll see when you open it
These installers are not yet code-signed, so both operating systems show a warning the first time. It looks alarming and it is expected. Here is exactly what happens and what to click.
macOS
- Open the .dmg and drag Wordtandem to Applications, then open it.
- macOS says “Wordtandem” Not Opened — Apple could not verify it is free of malware. Click Done.
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, and click Open Anyway next to the Wordtandem line.
- Confirm once more, with your password or Touch ID. macOS remembers the answer.
On macOS 15 (Sequoia) and later the old right-click › Open shortcut no longer works; the Privacy & Security route above is the supported one. Updates install automatically after that.
Windows
- Run the installer. SmartScreen shows Windows protected your PC.
- Click More info, then Run anyway.
- The installer runs normally. Windows may show the warning again for a new version or on another computer; the same steps apply.
Windows installers are a manual download: there is no automatic update on Windows yet, so come back here for new versions.

Camera controls and recording
CamBridge controls require desktop 1.4.1 or later. The installer version above comes from the published release, independently of the web app version. Open Camera settings in a supported desktop release. Connect a supported camera, enable its remote-control mode and close other camera apps; install the required camera software or SDK runtime. Don’t need a desktop app?
